Field Hockey Tryouts A Hit

Field Hockey Tryouts A Hit

Seacoast United Field Hockey has been hosting its first round of tryouts over the last couple of weeks, and it’s fair to say things are looking promising for the upcoming season. Tryouts went great for all 3 clubs, Hampton, Concord, and Essex. For the first round the club had 325 athletes attend in total with high hopes for the upcoming season.

“We look forward to getting back on the field over here in Concord and have some exciting changes that will be implemented this year. One of these changes will be the addition of true indoor field hockey for our premier players, on a sport court surface. We feel this will help with the technical and tactical aspects of the game, while improving overall reaction time and game sense. We can’t wait to be back on the field/court in just a few weeks”, Concord Club Director Caitlyn Mitchell added.

"The first tryout date for the 2020-2021 Winter Club season was a great start to another successful year.  The times are unfortunately very uncertain due to COVID-19 but our program is fortunate enough to provide athletes of all ages and abilities with opportunities to play field hockey throughout the fall and winter months.  It allows them to feel a sense of normalcy in their new everyday lives.  We look forward to another great turnout at our second tryout date in October" says Leah Boody-Simpson, Club Director of Essex.

“These last few months have been challenging for us all and we feel extremely lucky to be able to continue providing opportunities for our players. We are excited for the upcoming season and are projected to have the largest numbers in the Club’s history. Our number one focus will be the health and safety of our players and staff, and we can’t wait for practice to begin in November” says Club Director of Field Hockey Sarah Michaud.

The Winter Club Program runs from November-April, and our full time and part time staff work tirelessly to deliver top notch instruction, and a developmental environment that match the needs of each individual player. The club expects numbers to increase for the next round of tryouts, which will be held on Sunday, October 11th for the Hampton and Essex clubs. The Concord club tryout will be held on Sunday, October 18th.
