Seacoast United MA South hosted its first ever Academy ID Clinic last Thursdays at Union Point Sports Complex in Weymouth.
Nearly 200 players joined Seacoast United’s Director of Soccer Iain Scott, Boys’ Academy Director, Peter Decker and a host of Seacoast United MA South Directors, for a really exciting and informative night for players seeking an opportunity to compete at the very highest level of youth soccer. Seacoast United is a member of the newly formed Girls Academy League (GAL) and MLS Next, which is also entering its first ever season.
MA South Technical Director, Rob Jones will work directly with Iain and Peter to ensure players from this new region receive opportunities to play at the highest level. “To have over 200 players turn up for the first Academy ID Clinic shows the hunger and desire our players have to reach the next level. The talent on show was very impressive and I will be recommending a number of players, both boys and girls, to Iain and Peter," stated Jones.
This was just the first of many opportunities being scheduled at the Union Point Sports Complex. In addition to providing a pathway for players to develop and train within the Academy, Seacoast United will also be forming Regional Teams, comprised of players from across New England. These teams will have opportunities to train and play with the best players across the club, travel to a number of regional and national events, as well as travel abroad together.
